Plan to Eat

Role: Freelance UX and Visual Design

Description: Plan to Eat helps busy households get healthy dinners on the table. Collect and organize your recipes, add those recipes to your meal planning calendar, and Plan to Eat will make your shopping list for you based on what you plan.

I was brought on as a freelance designer to translate the web app to a fully functionality iOS app. I worked with the founder to design out a clickable prototype for the development team to work from. The app is launched in the App Store with 4.8 stars, 2.3k reviews and consistent feature updates.

It needs to be easy to filter, sort and search a large database of recipes.

I achieved this by having filter/search one click away and always showing a summary of what they are looking at.

We need to show a clear view of what is planned for the week and make it simple to add recipes to your calendar.

Meal planning is what keeps users coming back to the Plan to Eat app. At a quick glance, users can see what they’ve planned for each meal. Colors and Icons are used to emphasize the different categories.

Quick access to all your lists and date ranges needs to be front and center.

Quick access to recipes, staples list, store categories and being able to select a date range is what sets this shopping list apart. Lists can quickly be toggled from the top application bar.
